Monique Coleman

Monique Adrienne Coleman (born November 13, 1980) is an American actress best known for being one of the co-stars of the Disney Channel Original Movie, High School Musical, in which she plays Gabriella Montez's (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) best friend Taylor McKessie. Coleman also has a recurring role on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, as London and Corrie's friend, Mary-Margaret. She also competed in the third edition of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, finishing in fourth place.

Early life
Monique Coleman was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina and started her acting career in theatre and television at a very young age in Columbia, South Carolina. According to the Monique Coleman Official Site [1], her training began at the Workshop Theatre School of Dramatic Arts where she performed in over 15 plays. An acting class taught by a guest teacher actually turned out to be an audition, and resulted in her booking her first commercial. Coleman then began auditioning for anything she could in the Southeast region, landing several local and regional commercials as well as a few supporting roles in films. In addition to acting, Coleman was very involved in her community and school where she did everything from performing in plays to competing in forensic tournaments, volunteering with abused children, running track, and even cheerleading.
Coleman currently lives in Los Angeles.

Education

Coleman went to the Heathwood Hall Episcopal School who is near Cardinal Newmann and Hammond. Those are the main private schools of Columbia. Then, she attended The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, earning her BFA in Acting in 2002.

Career

Coleman made her first lead in the independent feature entitled Mother of the River [2] which was shot in the historic Charleston, South Carolina. The film won numerous awards at film festivals in Chicago. Two years later, Coleman appeared as Young Donna in The Family Channel Movie The Ditchdigger's Daughters [3] for which she was nominated for a Young Artists Award of Hollywood. During her sophomore year of high school, Coleman wrote, directed, produced, and starred in her own one-person play entitled "Voices from Within" with standing room only - audience numbering in the hundreds. On stage in Chicago, Monique starred in productions of Noises Off, Polaroid Stories, The Real Thing and The Colored Museum. [4]
In 2005, Coleman had the honor of working opposite one of her heroes - the legendary James Earl Jones when she played Leesha in the 2005 Hallmark TV Movie "The Reading Room". [5] She received a 2006 Camie Award for the role and represented the film at the NAACP Image Awards.[6] In 2006, Coleman co-starred in High School Musical as Taylor McKessie, best friend of the new braniac girl Gabriella Montez played by Vanessa Anne Hudgens. Then, she was a recurring guest star in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody episodes, "Forever Plaid", "Not So Suite 16", and "Neither a Borrower Nor a Speller Bee" along with Vanessa Anne Hudgens. Prior to that she guest-starred in The Suite Life season one episode A Prom Story. Coleman has had seven other guest appearances on the television shows Boston Public, Gilmore Girls, Malcolm in the Middle, Strong Medicine, 10-8: Officers on Duty, Married to the Kellys, and Veronica Mars. Monique was also in the first ever Disney Channel Games, on the Blue Team, along with Brenda Song, Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Cole Sprouse, and Jason Earles.
Since the debut of Disney Channel's Original Movie High School Musical in January 2006, Coleman has traveled to Sydney, Australia and London, England for promotions as well as appearing on shows such as The Today Show, Good Morning America, CNN Showbiz Tonight and TRL. She has been voted as one of Teen People's 25 hottest stars under 25, and has been featured in Bop, Popstar, Tigerbeat, Cosmo Girl, Word Up, Teen Vogue, The New York Times, Newsweek, and in other international publications. On April 13, 2007, Coleman finished filming the highly anticipated High School Musical 2, which will be shown on Disney Channel USA in August 2007.
During the Teen Choice Awards 2006, Coleman and the cast of High School Musical accepted the award for Choice TV Show in the category of Comedy/Musical for which Monique thanked her fans and encouraged them to vote for her on ABC's Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the Stars

Coleman competed in the Fall 2006 third edition of ABC's Dancing with the Stars reality dance competition. She was paired with professional partner Louis van Amstel throughout the competition. van Amstel and the judges praised her for "taking risks" during the competition. The pair appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show before they were eliminated and performed the same dance the performed in week 2's episode. She was eliminated from Dancing With The Stars on November 1, 2006, finishing fourth in the competition.[7] Coleman was very gracious in defeat, and appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show on the same night as the Results Show to thank her fans for their votes and support.[8]

Lucas Grabeel

Lucas Stephen Grabeel (born November 23, 1984) is an American actor and singer. He is perhaps best known for his role as Ryan Evans in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical and its sequel High School Musical 2 and as Ethan Dalloway in the third and fourth installments of Halloweentown - Halloweentown High and Return to Halloweentown.

Career

After graduating his highschool, Lucas Grabeel moved to Los Angeles to become an actor. Several months after the move, he landed his first Disney Channel Original Movie, Halloweentown High. His breakthrough performance was in the blockbuster (Disney) High School Musical as Ryan Evans, in which he sang two duet songs with Ashley Tisdale. What I've Been Looking For and Bop to the Top. He also sang with Ashley Tisdale, Zac Efron and Vanessa Anne Hudgens in "I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" which was not in the movie, but was an extra track on the soundtrack.
Grabeel has made TV Guest appearances on TV series such as Boston Legal, Smallville , Til Death, and Veronica Mars. He also participated in the first ever Disney Channel Games on the green team with team captain Ashley Tisdale, Mitchel Musso, Kyle Massey, Miley Cyrus, and Emily Osment. Lucas also reprised his role as Ethan Dalloway in the fourth Halloweentown movie, "Return to Halloweentown". On Thanksgiving Day 2006, he was featured on a High School Musical float alongside co-stars Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman singing the number "We're All in This Together", both Lucas and Corbin splitting half of Zac Efron's (Troy) lines from the song. Lucas Grabeel also sang the same song, at the 2006 Miss Teen USA pageant, singing the chorus while the contestants introduced themselves.
Lucas recently filmed the movie Aliceas the character of Lester Mckinley, which is an independent film based off the "Alice" book series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. It is expected to release in selected theaters in spring 2007. In January 2007, he finished touring on the High School Musical: The Concert tour along with Drew Seeley, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman. Lucas also recorded "You Know I Will" for "The Fox and the Hound 2." On April 13, 2007, Lucas finished production on High School Musical 2, in which he will return as Ryan Evans. This is expected to air on the Disney Channel in August 17 2007. Lucas also recorded "Go The Distance" for the CD Disneymania 5. Also he will be starring as food boy in The Adventures of Food Boy.

Corbin Bleu

Corbin Bleu (born on February 21, 1989) is an American actor, model, dancer, and singer best known for his roles in the film Catch That Kid, the Disney Channel original movies High School Musical and Jump In! which he stars along with his dad David Reivers, and the series Flight 29 Down.

Career
Corbin Bleu began his career by modeling for clients such as Target and Toys R Us. In 1996, his family relocated to Los Angeles and he soon gained a returning role on the TV series High Incident and a guest star appearance on ER. Bleu also had small roles in films such as Soldier, Family Tree, Mystery Men and Galaxy Quest before he gained a lead role the 2004 film, Catch That Kid. After the success of Catch That Kid, Bleu signed to star in Flight 29 Down, a drama series about a group of teens stranded on an island. He also has a small role as Spencer on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide on Nickelodeon--his first appearance being in the episode ironically titled Guide to: The School Play.
In 2006, he had a supporting role as "Chad" (the best friend of the male lead) in the very successful High School Musical, the Emmy award-winning Disney Channel Original Movie. Corbin also guest starred in the premiere episode of Disney's Hannah Montana. Corbin's next film, Jump In! co-starring actress and R&B vocalist Keke Palmer, premiered on January 12, 2007, and has since became the highest rated Disney Channel Original Movie of all time. His debut album, Another Side, was released May 1, 2007.
Bleu graduated from Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. Corbin Bleu toured with fellow HSM cast members from late November 2006 to late January 2007 in High School Musical: The Concert performing at about 40 different cities. To promote his debut album, Bleu will be performing at the NextFest tour 2007 along with Aly & AJ, Drake Bell, and Bianca Ryan.
As recently seen on Disney 365 on Disney Channel, Corbin is now the first Disney Channel star to have his own Disney XD account.[1]
Recently, Disney Channel aired an interview during Hannah Montana of Corbin's Upcoming Projects. He stated that Everytime he records in the studio, he always takes off his Socks and Shoes and any Jewelry to feel relaxed and free into the Music.

Present Life

Corbin Bleu lives in Los Angeles with his mother, father and three sisters. His mother is of Italian descent and his father is Jamaican. On May 1 he released his first album Another Side. On May 15 He will begin a tour of Latin America with the cast of High School Musical. His favorite films are Chicago and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. His favorite actresses are Jennifer Garner and Angelina Jolie. Corbin's favorite book is The Great Gatsby. Corbin has acted in three original films for the Disney Channel: High School Musical, Jump In and High School Musical 2 which is coming out on August 17 2007. Corbin is a Christian and at one point, wished to become a medical instructor. Instead, he decided to pursue his career in entertainment further.
